What Apero builds on Lemlist
Apero Advisors is a GTM engineering and revenue operations partner for PE- and VC-backed companies. Lemlist is where a lot of Apero's LinkedIn and email outreach actually goes out. The work is everything that decides who gets enrolled, with what note, and what happens when they reply.
LinkedIn and email sequencing for warm, inbound, and account-based outreach.
What we build on Lemlist
Lemlist is the send. The build is upstream: who is worth enrolling, which teammate sends, what the note says, and what happens to the reply.
Reps at one client don't open Lemlist. They ask Claude (connected via MCP or the API) for accounts in their territory that recently raised funding, have it find the CEO and write the message, and the contact lands directly in a Lemlist sequence.
Example workflows
01
Enroll warm connections from Network Miner
- Trigger
- A teammate's LinkedIn export is scored and someone is marked a keep.
- System
- The keep is enriched for email, added to or matched in the CRM with the owning teammate noted, and given a short LinkedIn message written for a first-degree contact.
- Output
- The lead enrolled in the owning teammate's Lemlist campaign with that note as the icebreaker.
- Operator outcome
- Warm relationships get used on purpose, and customers are not re-pitched.
02
Route inbound into the right campaign
- Trigger
- Someone submits the website form, signs up for the mailing list, or replies to an EmailBison campaign.
- System
- The person is enriched, a CRM record is created or reused, skip rules apply, and the person starts a Lemlist campaign. Work-email hand-raisers, mailing-list signups, and EmailBison replies that should get a LinkedIn invite each have their own lane. A card posts to Slack.
- Output
- A routed follow-up and a CRM record for every hand-raiser.
- Operator outcome
- Inbound does not sit in a form inbox.
03
Single-threaded LinkedIn DMs in an ABM motion
- Trigger
- Target accounts are tiered and approved.
- System
- Cold LinkedIn DMs run as a single-threaded Lemlist campaign on the same accounts as the rest of the ABM motion. People who engage with founder and rep posts can be messaged too.
- Output
- One more coordinated layer on the same account list.
- Operator outcome
- LinkedIn works with the other channels instead of competing with them.
04
Draft replies from the campaign playbook
- Trigger
- A prospect responds in Lemlist.
- System
- The reply agent loads that campaign's playbook, classifies the reply, and drafts from the real links in the playbook. A human approves in Slack before anything sends.
- Output
- A Slack card with the draft and campaign context.
- Operator outcome
- Replies get answered faster, without an invented link or auto-send.
How we work in your Lemlist account
- Access
- Client's choice: Apero builds in the client's Lemlist account, or in Apero's. When two teammates know the same person, we pick the sender.
- Change control
- Enrollment is semi-manual on purpose. Someone approves keeps before they go out. Reply drafts stop in Slack, and kill switches default off.
- Documentation
- Reply playbooks, skip rules, and the ICP file the scoring reads are written down in the repo.
- Handoff
- Enrollment and routing code lives wherever the engagement's repo lives, with docs either way.
When Lemlist is not the right channel
- Spraying a full connection list. Apero could send to far more people and, at this stage, chooses not to.
- High-volume cold email where gateway segmentation and placement testing matter most. That runs on EmailBison.
- Teams that want a full outbound sequencer from the reply agent. It is drafts only.
FAQ
What does Apero use Lemlist for?
Enrolling warm LinkedIn connections from Network Miner, routing inbound into the right campaign, running single-threaded LinkedIn DMs in ABM motions, and drafting replies from campaign playbooks.
When does Apero use EmailBison instead of Lemlist?
For cold email at scale, where gated sending, gateway segmentation, and placement testing matter. Lemlist handles LinkedIn, warm, and inbound outreach.
Does Apero run its newsletter through Lemlist?
No. Apero sends its newsletter through Resend, not Lemlist.
Does the reply agent auto-send Lemlist replies?
No. It drafts from the campaign playbook and stops in Slack until a human sends.
